Obituary:
In Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT, Thursday, October 11, 2012, John O. Filardi, 83, long time resident of Guilford. Beloved husband of Connie Filardi. Born in New Haven, on January 18, 1929, son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Filardi. Loving father of Lynda (Frank) Corsini of Guilford and Lee Ann (John) Simjian of North Branford. Also survived by six grandchildren, Aden Helland, Amber Hanrahan, Morgan Corsini, Tammy Way, Renee Vielleux, Stacey Collins, and ten great- grandchildren. Survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Filardi of New Haven. Predeceased by brother, Charles Filardi and sister, Rosemarie Nicefaro.
Mr. Filardi served his country during World War II in the United States Army , stationed in San Antonio, TX. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rodrigo Council # 44 and a 4 th Degree member of the Knights. John owned and operated his own construction business, building primarily in New Haven and worked at SCSU as a Maintenance Supervisor 1 until his retirement.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Tuesday, October 16 at 10:30am. Burial will follow Mass in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave, North Haven. Friends may call Monday, October 15 from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.

Service:
